Why? AFAIK this has been perfectly reasonable so far, if anything move it to LR but there are far more trivial topics already here in General and I think this is an interesting topic that affects us on many levels.

The way people treat each other has changed a lot in Britain in the last 30 yrs. If PC means not using grossly pejorative terms or discriminating against others then fine.

There is of course a support industry that has evolved in the media, academia and public sector. A lot of it is bollox and is often counter productive but it also benefrits the anti-PC industry as well (the Daily Mail would have to dig up something else to fill a few pages each day for example)

I have no problem with people getting ticked of at the useless cliched po-faced bilge (usually public sector) that sometimes comes to light but I suspect that some of the loudest protesters would think outlawing cross-burnings or giving women the vote was also PC gone mad.

For the record I do have a lesbian social-worker sister who works in Pol Correctness nirvana (East London borough) so I get to argue the toss on this quite a lot.

Although it has to be said that coloured would probably be a better description for us white people.

            We go Red when embarressed
We go Blue when we get cold
We go Brown after staying in the sun for a bit.
We go Red after staying in the sun for too long.
            We go Purple/Yellow/Black/Brown when bruised.
We go an even paler shade of white when we feel sick.

let me know if I missed anything out.
I think you'll find this is true of all people, regardless of the amount of melanin they have in their skin- which is the point really.

Title of thread is bad I'm afraid. It should read "Chronologically Challenged Chestnuts...". Please make the alteration swiftly.

I apologise Churchill, and RH. It's just that it reminded me of someone else who posted something similar when the subject was raised some months ago - on that occasion they meant it.

It's much more obvious with us who have white skin though, and I haven't seen many sun burnt people of african origin (most likely due to the amount of melanin in thier skin)
