It's peer pressure bullying at the state level.
Oops! Touched a nerve, I think.

NG, I've seen where your ideas come from.

Nevertheless, I'm not totally convinced that the Master is really dead...

PC may have been started with good intentions, but it's gone well past that now and really should be banned!!

For me the turning point was when I watched a documetry a couple of years ago about mixed race couples having twins. there was one case where one twin was the mothers colour and one twin was the fathers colour.

It showed a white woman and a black father and thier twins where one was black and one was white (Obviously 2 eggs fertalised at the same time, not one egg splitting).

At one point it showed the father going in to school to pick up his children and the teacher (who was white) pulled him to one side and told him that his white son had said that his black son was "black". The father looking slightly confused said "well... yes, he is black...". At which point the teacher jumped down his throat telling him how calling his son black was racist and language like that was not permitted in school and how it was demeaning to both him and his son while the guy stood there looking shocked.

It then cut to a shot of the father blasting the PC lobby and saying that he was black, one of his sons was black and it wasn't bloody racist for him to say that.
To me it proved that PC rubbish had gone far too far!

Indeed, and a little less... how can I put this... a little less young.

How dare he insult his own child by calling him a black!

So, black is off-limits. What are black people called these days?

I was, but I like to think that the Master was never less than, oh... five hundred?

Thanks zeity - gravitas, that's the word I was looking for.

I sense imminent bannings. Not having a poe-faced go at anyone, but, you know how these things end up.

Ok, so I unblocked Nicky G just so I could see if he'd spouted vitriol again, and grateful to see a measured response - although I doubt this could be some kind of state conspiracy by the liberals, as this has been going on for decades, while liberals were disempowered and the right was running the show.

I have a problem with the way PC language is used to encourage and foster distinction between social groups by highlighting their differences and constantly reminding us of their special requirements.

Now, I grew up in a small town, and we were, as a whole, truly colour-blind, a person was a person, full stop. We judged them on their merits and efforts and actions as a human. Now living in london I see divisions all over the place, and the constant compensatory nannying about doing nothing to remind us of this basic fact, that we're just people.

Political Correctness, IMHO, does more to divide communities and encourage tribalism than anything else. We have a serious problem in our society that engenders victimhood, where each 'disenfranchised' community of dissent looks to the state to right wrongs which never would have existed before.

Let's keep this clean and clear of banning territory eh?

The PC term that he should have been using was coloured....

Although it has to be said that coloured would probably be a better description for us white people.

                      We go Red when embarressed
We go Blue when we get cold
We go Brown after staying in the sun for a bit.
We go Red after staying in the sun for too long.
                      We go Purple/Yellow/Black/Brown when bruised.
We go an even paler shade of white when we feel sick.

let me know if I missed anything out.
