    Guilty as charged.

With all of your technomumbojumo knowledge ZG, you could probably make me a Flux Capacitor!!

Why make one when you can buy one online now?

A Ford or an Astra will have very poor residuals. It may actually be cheaper to buy a premium car of the same age, if you plan to sell it in a couple of years.

BTW: Have you considered the Honda S2000?

From the reviews of the Flux Capacitor:

"Hey, I'm from the year 2134 I was wondering if I could get some help from any of you time travelers such as myself. For any one wondering, yes we still use Flux Capacitors in the future. But anyhow back to my problem, I traveled to the past (which in fact is your present) to see if Paris Hilton was really an idiot before she became president in 2020. Any how I was on my way back to the present (which is you future) and right before I hit the required 88 MPH, I was pulled over by a police officer for speeding (why would you fools make the required MPH higher then the speed limit? your time confuses me). To make a long story just a little bit shorter my driver’s license is not valid in this time period and my time travel machine (a Ford Escort which is the most luxurious auto in the future) was impounded by the law officer. I was hoping one of you fellow time travelers could give me a lift back to the present (your future) or lend me a few quid to get my time machine out of impound, as my money apparently is not any good in this time period. Please respond I’m hungry cold and lonely. I’m at the Hanley Library in Stoke using the computer so please some one stop by. PLEASE HURRY THEY CLOSE AT 8:00 PM (your time). "
          Hard Brexit now!

She doesn't like cloth tops. It needs to be a folding metal wotnot, so we are talking:

            Common Peoples Cars (new)

            Renault Megane CC
            Peugeut 207 CC
            Ford Focus CC
Vauxhall Astra Twin Top (Tigra is a poss)
            VW Eos

More Upmarket Types (2nd hand and with a lot more miles)

            New Shape Merc SLK
Or spend double and get a 3 yr old Merc SL (footballers car)
            Lexus SC430

The new BMW coupe/convertible is too new and expensive. She just isn't worth it I'm afraid.

From your list, I think the best compromise of image/price is the VW Eos. Not many about either so would stand out from the crowd.

Hmm, not a bad price either

Not that I am saying it is a better car performance or looks wise, but you can get a new top spec Renault Megane CC for the same price
