Just manage them. Of course if a driver is a no show then I'll probably end up doing it for a shift. But I'd rather not drive them (more money driving other trucks) and just get some drivers in.

It would be upto the company to manage drivers / book them. I am mostly there to make sure they stay legal (easier said then done).

There are a lot of legal records that need to be kept, 6 week inspections, driver tachos, wtd directive, daily use sheets. Its a headache...which is why people dont want to do it

Sounds more logical. It would have been odd if you drive full time and post on the net at the same time.

Got today off Still get paid though.

Not holiday or MOO. Just get a fixed rate for the week. I get paid for 50 hours but only allowed to legally average 48 so quids in as they cant make me do 50

Each "contract" is a week long. Well I say contract its just them raising a PO for me. Last weeks invoce was £860 ex vat which is not a bad rate to get while concentrating on starting up on your own.

To be fair this most drivers are not foriegn.

Sure there are some foriegn drivers in the UK but mostly they are not wanted as people object to dealing with someone who has pigeon english.

I've only ever met 3. Had to give them all driving assesments and not one of them passed.
