Light Relief is an obvious solution for many of these difficulties. I loved El Duder's posts, but he really should post (should have posted?) then in LR. If we all make an effort to do this, it will improve the General forum, and those who are fed up with the site can just not look in LR. You don't get much nonsense in the other 3 forums, because we know the rules. Let's re-learn them - General is for things of general interest to contractors - I'd suggest that includes politics and taxation issues, because the effect our business, but excludes what Jordan has called her baby (just an example, not aimed at anyone).

If we do this, then the onus is on those who start the threads to start them in the correct place. If one is started in the wrong place, the mods could just delete it rather than move it to LR, and warn the therad creator. If it should be in General and then someone posts something more appropriate to LR, it can be moved to LR and if necessary the poster warned not to post such posts in General.

As for being nice to each other, I'm afraid that's going to be tricky as long as we have Nazis (and I use the term precisely and narrowly for CD and his alter egos - I'm not including people I happen to disagree with on immigration or race) on this board, who clearly have no interest in contracting.

I can only agree, it must be a difficult job to apply the policy consistently, and find it interesting that you mention the likes of bogeyman, who has, more than once abused me very personally, along with troll and churchill.

I've spent time away from the board and I certainly don't bother to post as much as I did because the arguments don't change, there are very few who can support their opinions with fact, and there are some people who seem to get away with anything.

I heartilly agree, some of those mentioned post's have more than crossed the line, especially regarding personal attacks, which should never be tolerated.
Bogeyman has critisized the posts of others while ignoring the fact that he himself is guilty of the same acts.
but as for your comment on the opinions and unsurported facts of some of the posts on this site, remember! most of these posts are tongue in cheek.
Unsurported and outrageous as they may be, most are entertaining to a degree.
Don't let the acts or ignorence of a few posters drive you away. Fight Back.

You're right - reclaim General and move the rest to LR.

You conveniently skip all discussion of the overwhelming of our country and the subsequent demise of the indigenous population as a result.
