I am not quite sure what you are getting at. I am sure that this is not what you are trying to do but you illustrate a perfect example of how political correctness stifles debate. My assertion that there is a big problem with a lot of state schools which is why so many children are illiterate and not able to face up to day to day life has been "spun" into a general criticism of state schools, and used as a class war attack on private schools.

This serves the purpose of shifting the battlefield away from the sensitive area of public sector incompetence and onto banging the rich. It is not the private schools who turn out tomorrow's welfare dependents (though there are of course exceptions), nor does education carry the entire burden of responsibility for turning out feckless adults (parents do). But the real problem that can be resolved is the awfulness of the worst state schools, not the fact that you guys have a chip on your shoulder about your own educations.

So under what circumstances would you like to use the "N" word?

        Hmm!
The cut and thrust of this clearly well thought out analytical response should leave them reeling in their seats.
The time and effort spent in compiling this clearly intellectual response must have been tremendous.

        Please continue

No, I just don't agree with your argument. There are people who are in favour of state schools over private schools for various reasons. I am one of them.

I have no chip on my shoulder, I went to a good CTC, probably better funded than your fancy private school (no cucumber sandwiches though) and went to University etc. You appear to have a warped view on state schools.

Perhaps you have noticed I don't. Now 5300 posts of garbage, why is it you come here?

My argument was that the majority of unemployed and unemployable were from poor state schools, it was nothing to do with private schools. If you want to argue that the majority of the poor and unemployed are old etonians then do so. Your attempt to shift the debate is exactly how the left avoid having to answer awkward questions about the performance of their work.

As for the different argument between public and private schools then I believe that whichever is the best way of delivering the best education system is the one that should prevail.

The majority of the population goes to state school, so the majority of poor and uneducated will most likely have gone to state school.

I know loads of people who went to private school, and they are all a little bit odd to a degree, they appear to have trouble truly integrating in London with normal folk.

Immigrants are the salvation for ageing populations and countries with an inadequate population growth rate.

Not only that, more immigrants = more schools and hospitals and greater cultural diversity.

New Labour have it right I reckon.

                      .
                      Need I say more?

So let us say that for arguments sake 25% of the population are educated at private school and 75% at state school. Of the 4 million unemployed do you believe therefore that 75% of those are state school people and 25% are private school educated?
