It's a good cover for any mistakes he makes and also puts a lot of people off thier guard because they genuinely belive the act.

Have you never acted dumb in a situation before and let somebody think they are lording it over you so that you can then shoot them down?

Doesn't strike me as being a particularily clever move promoting an image of yourself as being bumbling and incompetant if you're wanting to obtain some sort of public office. Unfortuntley people generally vote on style over substance and impressions count.

Personally I've not really noticed anything that Boris has done that's struck me as being particularily intelligent so I'll stick with my first impression. But I'm willing to listen to examples if you have some.

He's the nearest thing we'll get to Clarkson being Mayor, and for that reason alone, I'd vote for him.

He is a bit of a buffoon (sorry buffoon), but in a likeable way, and would be a refreshing change from the psuedo-commie nauseatingly PC wally we have at the mo.

There are penty of people who're not ashamed of what they are DA, most of whom I got no issue with. And I'm lost as to where you get the link to chuck in inverted snobs at me - never been accused of that before.
