Bear in mind he managed to work his way through Oxford University and has made a quite substantial amount of money. He is also a journalist by trade so he knows how to use the media to his advantage.

Sorry to agree with you on most points, but my original comment stands - on transport issues in London I think he's been good. To be honest, as someone who is living and working in London my biggest grievence would be transport, and I have to say I hitnk things have improved under him.

I don't believe its possible for anyone, regardless of politics, to make London trasnport a pleasurable experience, but he's done a good job of making it tolerable.

What I love about Boris is that he does not stand on ceremony, he is not a snob, and is confident enough not to take himself seriously. Read his comments in todays Telegraph.

One thing he is not is an idiot..

Jade goody managed to make her way through Big Brother and make a small fortune afterwards, not sure that qualifies her as being clever. (And not being funny but going to oxford counts as sfa in my book).

Maybe idiot is the wrong choice of words, but the sentiment applies.
