Was listening to the Radio 4 money programme yesterday (how old am i).

They had a investor on there saying that in the next 3 years high rate interest accounts are the way forward. Property is good if you want to keep it for 30 years but must be willing to do that in order to get the returns.

Also the average mortgage that was £1200 a month 2 years ago on the fixed rate deals is about to go to nearly £2000/month when the fixed rate deals run out in July/August.

By which time the BOE will more than likley have put another .25 on the rates after this months hold.

Not expecting a crash but a certain halt to the rising prices and less money flooding around the high street!

That came on last week! I dashed to the radio to turn it off immediately, but not until after I'd heard the man say "The UK stock market has more than doubled since its 2003 low, so is it now time to turn bullish and start buying?"
