Don't confuse GB and TB, they are far from the same thing. I'm sure that GB still thinks nationalising a few things would be a good idea, but he thinks they can and should still be free that way (see B of E). TB OTOH doesn't want to nationalise (after all, he doesn't know what "socialism" means) but he can't stand any other institutions being free: that strikes him as a recipe for people not doing as (he knows) they should; i.e. for disaster. Nothing worse than people not doing what he wants.

While I'm here, there's another thing to be said for GB: you won't need any cash-for-honours or other corruption inquiries while he's in no. 10. You may not like what he does with money, but one thing he won't do is steal it for himself.

I presume you are joking. GB has been responsible for much of UK domestic policy. He is a control freak and not averse to a bit of spinning (just see how independent the BoE MPC actually is - or put it another way, who do you think oversees the appointment of about 50% of the roles on it). Then the announcement at the weekend over stop and search. If that was not enough hows about the way he hid a doubling of tax for the low paid as a tax reduction! What the hell do you call that, if not spinning.

No things will be a lot worse under GB since GB is an unreformed socialist, with a strong belief in redistribution.

The benefit system he created is just one big spin, introducing a system of tax credits so complex most of those who need it don't apply while creating the biggest group of people beholden to a Labour Government (with over 50% in some areas on benefits of one kind or another). As an act of Gerrymandering that puts Dame Whatshername into the shade.

And to top it all we have PFI - hiding gazillions of borrowing as a fee. Our Grandchildren will still be paying for this.

Not for himself, no. He is a very rich man.

However, the Labour party needs lots of money to run it, and I don't see GB donating a few million himself, so I don't see much change in the sleaze department.

Remember, while Blair was still playing his guitar with Ugly Rumours, GB was writing a book on fiddling money.

Eden, Harold "Supermac" McMillan, Alec Douglas Home, Harold "Coal Tips" Wilson, Ted "Grocer" Heath, Jim "Crisis, Wot Crisis" Callaghan, Margaret Hilda Thatcher, Some Grey chappie who likes cricket called, um, oh yes, John Major, and T. Bliar.
