    you're

I'm already a home owner, I'm just worried for my brother who will probaly have to wait another 20 years before he's earning enough to by a 1 bed flat in Catford. Unless he gets that First in Maths from Cambridge, in which case he's going to be richer than Croesus

Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

look lads for fecks sake this discussion is fruitless

the reason for the situation is a product of the ever expanding money supply

which needs to be there to keep the service economy going

there is one thing which would kick start proper securely footed growth in the economy and that is to build the hundreds of thousands of houses that are needed, that alone would create so many jobs and so many spin off jobs and industries the economy would grow like a rocket

meantime lads, as you've shown you have no clue when it comes to fiscal policy, I suggest you stick to something you can do like patching windows servers

            Milan.

The poor should aspire to being rich, in a meritocracy the only thing stopping them joining in is lack of effort

The other way would be for the State to confiscate all property and develop and distribute according to need.... but I think your lot may have tried that before
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

why is it desirable for everyone to own a property? there are plenty of investment opportunities abroad. As far as housing shortages are concerned Tim 123 is absolutely correct. It is absolutely essential that there is a ready supply of rentable property because without it there can be only little movement of labour. An immobile labour force is very bad for the economy
