Hmm - she says her bump touched the steering wheel. Isn't there something in the highway code about keeping a minimum of 30cm between the driver and the wheel?

Not practical for any woman bearing twins (and not practical for a lot of women not bearing twins). Unfortunatly your legs don't get longer when you become pregnant and reaching the pedals is quite critical to being able to drive

It was more from a safety point of view really. I wouldn't like to hit something with no clearance between me and the steering wheel/airbag.
