Buggeration! I was rooting for Royal - As a socialist, she'd have kept France in a happy state of relative decline.Originally posted by LucyAnd France might be saved.
Still, not to worry. I'm sure after a few riots the result will be much the same with Sarkozy in charge.Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ here -
Hey Luce! thought you'd disappeared for good. Sarkozy won't make much of an impact, the French are too bolshie for that.Hard Brexit now!

Yes it is the end of socialism.
Soon we shall build large detention centers for our undesirables, and import cheap foreign labour to satisfy our consumerism. We will set people against people, in a frenzy of competition, where only those that conform survive and those that take prosper. The sick will be euthanised, the old will be discarded and the young will be correctly educated. Where once we failed, now we shall succeed, my children.Comment

Socialism is an illusion and hasn't really existed since man went about in tribes of 10-15. Some 10,000 years ago.

A historic weekend as Socialism has been firmly rebutted in the UK and France - not to mention the ousting of Mr Sheridan of the Scottish Socialist Party .
