They're just sales people...and in many cases they are basically just a telesales department...they don't care about you and why should they?

They are no different from Double Glazing Sales...in fact they are worse, as they know nothing about what they are selling.

The recruitment consultants get a brief from their client that might include something like EPoS and they just get the telesales people to do a search for 'EPoS' and then contact all the matches...they don't even know nor care what EPoS is...and in some cases, even the recruitment consultants don't know, they are just bright enough to read between the lines and make sure the words coming out of your mouth are similar to those that are coming out of their clients mouths.

They can be troublesome but its best just to accept them and make sure you know the game better than they do...so that when you do need that Double Glazing, you know how to get the best deal.

I have 1 phone for agents and 1 phone for people I want to talk to. Agent phone only switched on if I want a job.

All emails from agents get a reply - giving my renewal date only unless I am looking. Amazing hopw many agents only call and dont email.

Still theres always an exception to the rule. DA is wonderful!

The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I have a mobile that I only use for contact with pimps. When I change contracts, I change numbers. That way I don't get calls from pimps with out of date info, and I can selectively give the new number out to the pimps who I know are helpful.

Yeah, but we're talking about contracting here, don't need to know your sexual habits.

Yeah I'm thinking of getting one of those non-geographic numbers you can redirect to your mobile/landline for when I'm next available, then advertise it on my CV etc. Redirect it to a suitable alternative number when I'm not looking for work, could have loads of fun with that. "Hello, Taliban"

Thinking about it maybe a premium rate line would be better. Redirect it to voicemail with a nice long intro message. Put my cv on monster and the other jobsites. I could retire off the profits.

I have a Skype In number, and Skype forwarding (on no-answer) using Skype Out.

So I give out the Skype In number: if I'm online when somebody calls, I answer on Skype; if not, it is forwarded to a phone local to where I am.

If I start getting pestered on the Skype In number, I'll just dump it. But TBH I find a certain background level of calls from agents quite reassuring
