Do you support the BBC?

Right, I've had a raging argument with a mate who insists on saying the BBC is an outdated, evil and biased corporation (he reads the torygraph a lot).

Personally I love the BBC and despite paying for Sky every month I still find that I watch the BBC for at least 50% of the time.

After seeing a similar post, here’s the poll.

I dont really trust them - you nearly always only get one side of a political story.
I dont believe they've given us any decent journalism throughout the Iraq war, and I just dont really believe what they say anymore with regards to anything happenning in other countries.

To many right-on pinko lefties and gays working in the BBC now. I haven't watched BBC1 for ages - it's full of dumbed down celeb-driven tosh. BBC2 is getting more bereft in terms of qulaity. BBC News24 seems to have lost its way a bit. Now I watch Al Jazeera English - very balanced in its coverage and comment.

I'm not limiting this to its news coverage but the quality of its programs overall, no adverts and value for money etc.

My mate says internet TV such as Joost is the way forward but all I see is wall to wall advertising and poor quality shallow programs which I hate.

I would happily de-tune ITV if it wasn’t for their champions league coverage.

I've not trusted them since some presenter on Radio 5 Live wondered out loud why you say some abbreviations as words, like NALGO, and others as letters, like BBC.

I really don't like how everyone with the capability to receive a tv signal (even if it's a tuner card in a media PC) has no option but to get a licence, and for each premise they own/rent, not per person. I can't watch tv at my permanent residence if I'm not there can I.

On the plus side I rented an apartment with secure door entry downstairs and got away with not having a licence whilst I was there for about a year. They kept sending me (well "The occupier") letters, kept ignoring them. Moved on before they'd got their arse in gear to come and pay a personal visit.

I would prefer to opt out of the licence fee (or get a large discount) and pay as I go to watch BBC content. Then I could get it online instead.

I love the BBC. They paid me a great rate when I contracted there

The perfect solution would be to turn BBC into a subscriber channel. Those that want to opt-in pay, those that opt-out, fine, it is scrambled and you won't get to watch it.
