I'm PCG, some of the forums are informative, but you get the feeling the guys over there have less to do than we do...

I'm also a bit worried that PCG members come here for advice, which makes me think that they don't want to use the PCG boards for some reason.
Why not come over and ask.

PS. If I need advice I am more likely to use the PCG forums than here, this is entertainment.

I used to be fairly regular on the forums years ago, but they became a bit banal thanks to the likes of CanDo, and the pompous stewrat. Of course, CUK is never banal!

Still a member of PCG though, and I support the organisation itself.

It's hardly worth complaining about tax. Few good financial decisons are made on the grounds of taxation.

If your investment is good, it's good even if it's taxed; if it's bad, it's still bad even if it's tax free.

If your earning power is adequate, it's adequate under any tax regime. Tax whingers just want more money than they are able to make.

If I did, I would get thirty stupid and off-topic answers from the self-elected cabal that seem to ru(i)n the place these days...

I dunno 'bout that. I look at something and look at the overall costs of doing it different ways. Tax is certainly part of that equation. I want a new bike: I go and purchase it in Holland, save myself 25%, want a new car, I purchase it in Denmark, but register it in another country, save myself 300%...
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

I've found the forums quite good and had some helpful answers. The discussion on agencies asking for passport details has been good for example.

The rest of the PCG needs an overhaul though - and quickly. The opt-in/out info is woefully out of date and I belive there should be things like business stationery offers and the contracts laid out clearer. Don't much care for money off car hire et al and such so I'd be happy to see these efforts being channeled into something more constructive.

It's not necessarily wasted effort - they pay for themselves I would have thought. Like you I don't use them, not yet anyway, but I wouldn't stop others from doing so.

Actually you have a point there that I may take away for future use...

The car lease special offer is rubbish. Even after the special PCG members' discount it was more expensive than most other lease outfits' regular price.
