Do you get to remove the large latex phallus that you are required to wear daily strapped to your forehead on your current gig?

Will you stop flirting with me?!
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I would listen to Luke though.

If you are happy with the job and the permie package supports your lifestyle then it may be worth considering.

If you anticipate that the bank will start to thin out contractors then if your skills are marketable you may be in a position to secure another gig that demands a higher rate.

      Personally I prefer contracting.

On the bench at the min though. Comes with the territory.

New gig starts early next month

Luke has given some good advice which I had thought about before.
My skills are SQL Server, .NET, xslt, xml, Access/Excel + VBA, blah, blah, blah.
Being on the bench doesn't bother me - see other post detailing financial position. Just means I can see my daughter more as she grows up. I would also have a bit of break and could get to play a bit more sport which has been difficualt lately.

Soon. Just waiting for that intellectual vol-au-vent sasguru to tap out his latest nonsense on another thread. You would think that with those extra digits he might be able to type a bit more adroitly but I suppose the whole process is hampered by the slowest moving entity in the production process, his miniscule brain. Oh well, time for another coffee.........and maybe a siesta!

And that is not even the smallest organ in his body.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

Oh hark at it! The Italian gimp has spoken up from deep in SB's dungeon where he performs the role of Chief Plaything for the bumptious buffoon.

It's not my fault that you are so hideous that in comparison even SB looks like a nice decent guy.

Training is a good point but I assume it will all be either basic Microsoft training (excel/access) or finance training Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So no decent IT training, no prospect of promotion and to be honest no desire to be a manager or have people working for me. Can't be bothered with the hassle of managing people.

I guess milk this gig. When they don't want me anymore take a break and enjoy it for a month or 2. During the break spend time with the wife and daughter. But also make some time to maybe go for a project management qualification i.e prince 2 and play some sports.
