Oh LB, how I would love to drop my trousers and take you from behind.

Being old enough to remember when there weren't really any IT agencies I recon the actual problem is the rise of HR departments and middle managers who'd never worked on the shop floor.

If those were wound back then agencies would wither away.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Yes well agencies are just out-sourced HR functions, and their prevalence is because of the politics of keeping HR in house. However, people are starting to realise the loss of control that out-sourcing brings. Since the value of recruitment is immeasurable at least in the short term, it is difficult to measure the value of external HR.

Government should function to encourage truly competitive markets where alternatives are available. We can do this by explicit regulation of recruitment agencies. Hence my five point plan. I encourage you to write to your MP with this plan. We need to mobilise and make this issue register on the political landscape.

People are our most valuable resource given our dwindling natural resources. Why should they be treated like a sack of sh*t by semi-illiterate chimpanzees like DA ?

          Oh get a life....

If you can't get a decent contract yourself stop whinging about the people who can get it for you.

Although I don't really like Agents and would only use one in an emergency I have to say that many of the comments made by DA on here are both useful and reasonable, rather than downright insulting like most of yours.

              "Dear Mr MP,

When you've finished shagging your researcher or stuffing oranges in your mouthing whilst masturbating furiously, any chance you could ban recruitment agencies for me? A nasty company is making margin out of me because I am too useless too find my own opportunities in the market like a real business does.

              Cheery-bye"

Some of us feel a moral responsibility to improve our country. You clearly would like things to stay as they are which makes you either a reccon or incredibily stupid (or both).

I don't want to ban agencies, just regulate them. This is the model for many other industries so it is hardly radical.
