Which is all well and good except that I posted that 2 days ago, special delivery next day before 9am - so should have been there yesterday.

I seriously thought that it had gone missing with:

    Passort,
    Current Contract,
    Last 2 Contracts,
    6 Months Business Bank Statements,
    6 Monts Personal Bank Statements,
    Certified Credit Card Bill,
    Original Credit Card Bill,

Anyone trying to steal my identity would have had a frikking field day!

Crap they are! I posted something recorded delivery once and recipients said they had not got it a week later. Phoned up RM to be told "we have no record that it has been delivered" Gee ta! well worth the extra quids that was!

PS. Not posted to HMRC or some other govt lot was it? Probably passed it to the Ministry Of Wiping Our Arses On Peoples' Documents Before Returning Them. If you get it back I should fumigate it if If I were you. Some 95% of civil servants are gainfully employed in distributing the products of bodily functions to the general public.

Nine. It was to Contractor Financials

Main thing that will annoy me is that gathering all this info again would prove nigh on impossible to do again

          HMMMMMMMMmmmmm

I'm just about to post my Oz migration application off (with all sort of personal documentation as you can imagine) and was going to use royal mail. Even though they *appeared* to mess me around when I was sending off the first part of the application with the line "we are unable to tell whether it has been delivered" even though I had paid the extra quids for "international signed for delivery".

I swore I'd never use them again but it turned out it had been delivered safe and sound it was just that the recipients had got my email address wrong so I didn't receive their confirmation letter. so I thought I'd give royal mail another go... but sounds like this is a very common problem. Perhaps it's a trip down to the fedex desk in staples at lunch time then!!

There's no such thing as international signed for. When pressed RM will admit it covers the letter until the point it leaves the UK and no further.

            Rip off eh.

I got fed up with the late special deliveries and so I complained to Royal Mail.

They apologised and said they would send a cheque for a refund. They did, but they made the cheque payable to “Cater Allen House”, the name of the building I was working in.

yeah it does actually say that in the small print however you're supposed to be able to track the parcel whilst it's still in the UK and the status never changed from "your parcel has been received an is being processed for dispatch"... in fact if I still had the tracking number I bet it'd still say that a year later!!
