The Nazis. Nasty fellas or a little misunderstood?
Er, no, "Jew Science" was mostly nuclear... since poor old Heisenberg was so uncertain.
Erm...
I think you'll find the "German Nuclear Weapon" issue should be taken with the same pinch of salt used for the "Saddam Weapons of Mass Destruction" topic.
Churchill was talking about V1/V2 and jet engines - all of which were done in Germany.
von Braun certainly did repay back to humanity by his work at NASA - during war time he was actually arrested by the SS for talking among scientists how humans will fly to space - this is what he wanted to do.
Sure London was bombed, but let's be honest here - Allies were bombing many more civilian targets in Germany.
I was given a tour of Berlin a few months ago - of the very few old buildings left, all of them still show the bullet holes. I found it quite sobering to see buildings riddled in this way - and these were the ones which survived. The depth of some of these bullet marks was pretty remarkable also. It shows how pi55 poor the Hollywood representation of the second world war really was.
The offices I was visiting were next to the Brandenburg (sp?) gate. After things settled down, next to the gate was one building which remained. It managed to survive the war, the bombing by the allies, the pounding by the Russians. What it didn't survive was a game played by a few drunk Russian soldiers who were playing a game involving hand grenades

don't agree with that. So he designed a few rockets to get people into space. He didn't do this as a repayment to humanity, he did it because it was his job. If he had no use to the Allies he would have met the fate of a load more of his countrymen.
