Given the tulipe you spout, a good rule of thumb would be that to take a view diametrically opposed to yours on every occasion would more likely lead to a sound conclusion.
    Hard Brexit now!

Global Warming and the Hole in the Ozone

Global warming is a real threat just look at the rising oceans and the fact that some people are having to leave home or will do shortly because their homes will be covered by the sea soon.

We all know that something needs to be done but as yet noone has come up with a way to run cars and power stations on Hydrogen that can be cheaply produced ie by splitting H2O molecule cheaply.

If you look at the hole in the Ozone layer which was caused by CFC gasses from things like deoderants and fridge freezers, once the political will was there and the gasses were changed the ozone layer started to repair itself, and I believe it has now fully recovered.

So if some bright spark invents a solution then we will be OK if not then our grandchildren's generation will pay the price.

Also for all you people working in London the thames Barrier is only expected to last until around 2020 and then water levels are expected to come over the top of it. If London does flood then it is expected that the Underground will remain closed for up to a year. How will all the highly paid contractors get to and from work then ?

And contributed to global warming as a result. CFCs helped cool the planet. With that and killing off the only viable alternative energy source (i.e. nuclear power), the eco-mentalists have caused the problem they're now all whinging about. (Okay, not really "caused", but contributed to).

I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

That'll be great. No more needing 5 years banking experience to get your foot in the door, as all the banking people will have drowned. The financial industry will relocate to higher ground, and be offering £1000 per day for any one who can spell .NET.

I'm going to go start both my cars and leave them running over night.

I thought sea levels had been rising since the last ice-age and actually slowed down during the industrial revolution.

Damn that Mr Caveman and those hunter gatherer societies, we ought to build more factories.

IIRC more like 140m, and actually slowed down about the same time man started to burn lots of wood to make iron etc. and practically stopped with the end of the industrial revolution.

So, if mans release of CO2 into the atmosphere causes sea level changes, then those changes are to reduce the sea level.
