      I've got 6kW ground mounted with 11kW battery. Made them mounts myself as the cost is more than the panels. 6kW to match the inverter. Fronius which I like. Automatically switches to battery/solar when we have a power cut which is a couple of times a year.
      I'd consider looking at V2H if you're considering an EV as could give storage at no extra cost.

        Also, get an inverter with passive cooling and mount it in a cool sheltered place such as the garage. Fans can consume a lot of electricity themselves and have a habit of wearing out!

          Instead of having them on the ground, you can install them on a frame, this gives you a shady area underneath & does not reduce over available land space

              ok, to be clear, when I said on the ground I didn't mean like, they'd be, like, lying on the ground, I meant they'd be on a frame

              so, it'll be 22 panels at 10kw each according to the design documentation whatever that means

                  that is really interesting I hadn't thought that we could continue to grow stuff under the frame, our frame at the highest point will be maximum 2 metres high

                  we have to get planning permission for it and we are in that process now

                    I could understand 22 x 480W panels giving you a total of about 10kW
                    220kWh of electricity is about enough to power 50 houses.
