UK Brokers for Futures Trading

Past few weeks I have been dipping my toes in direct exchange traded Equity Futures at NSE and am impressed with my progress. I want to do the same in the UK market for Gold, Metal, Crude, Equity and Crypto etc (except CFDs - no thank you).

I looked at few brokers and I sort of liked Interactive Brokers but their desktop app is not working in my old mac and the initial margin requirement in the UK seems a bit high. For example, You need at least $5000 to buy or sell one lot of Crude. I don't want to use leverage.

Is anyone here do Futures trading? Any recommendation for brokers, preferably FCA regulated?

For overnight margin, futures brokers don't tend to go lower than the Exchange mandated margin.

But if you are holding over night i would just spread bet, the extra spread you pay becomes less and less significant the longer the holding period (and larger your profit target).

For day trading there are brokers that have much lower margin requirements. As they don't have to stick to the exchange overnight requirements for intra day trades.

Fraidycat Thanks for your reply. I have registered an account with US based broker AMP Futures albeit wanting an UK broker.

On a different note, I didn't realise that I have to pay a monthly fee for data feed (e.g CQG) to do trade. In countries like India this data feed charge is something unheard of.
