Iran confirmed that it has carried out attacks inside Pakistan. This has happened just a day after Pak PM met with Iranian FM, when their navies were doing joint exercises and two days after Indian FM visited Iran.

Pak is now in a very tight spot. Any retaliation will quickly escalate into a major one and in multiple fronts which is unsustainable. Not doing anything (aka. Diplomatic pressure, UN Charter etc) is even more problematic as it will lose its 'reputation' in their own country.

Pak is likely to persuade (beg) Iran to issue a statement that the event was a mistake and the soldier responsible for it has been taken off duty!!!

Pakistan would get wiped out in a day if Iran launched a full scale attack. The greater risk is unintended consequences of other regional powers coming into the war.

Maybe but Pakistan has nukes which we don't currently believe Iran has. I wouldn't write Pakistan off just yet.

1. They may have nukes but that would be the last resort, getting it ready requires a lot of money which Pak doesn't have. It's possible that Pak is being used by US as a proxy and initiated retaliatory attacks.

2. If they engage fully with Iran, it will open up another front with India and one more with Afghanistan. This will completely wipe them out.
