In the past few days I listened to some rather odd hate speeches about the UK from African leaders. None mentioned that 17 African countries' debts (£30bn) were written off by the UK in 2005 and on top, they have been receiving development funds every year after.
If they don't blame the UK for all their ills then it makes it difficult for them to stay in power.
