I wish I could find jobs paying 50K. All I see is jobs requiring a list of must haves that suggests they want somone who has at least 5 years experience, paying 24-27K

    That's a grads salary.

ISTM there is no longer a 'career' path in IT.

I believe the reason is outsourcing. All of my potential client companies get much of their software written in India and use people like me to 'integrate' it into the product.

the sooner you lot realise The Party wants everybody skint the better off you will all be

if we accept and agree that The Party wants everybody skint, and we see evidence of this in wages for jobs going down then the final nail in the coffin will be a house price crash because then all of the paper wealth will have disappeared and the wages will have already been crushed therefore leaving the population no way out but to conform to the wishes of the The Party.

The house prices today may provide the lucky few an exit window.

      All the best.

      Milan.

Now, hang about. You are in a contract, so there is clearly staff available in the UK to perform the role. On what grounds could a work-permit be issued? This is clearly more evidence that there is fraud going on.

I have not seen an embedded contract above £350/day or £50/hour. Is an embedded contract worth less or not an good IT job?

Because there cheap, dont know the full in's and out's, but they recruit them, bring them here put them in flats (paid for by them), stay in the UK for a while year, then go back to India, and end up being based there.

Sounds like the old "working holiday" scam where they are officially based somewhere else and get shipped over for 6 months, then get sent back. A couple of weeks later they'll be back for another 6 months. Repeat ad nauseum.

Also completely illegal, but somehow the big companies get away with it
