French teens are being lured to Marseille by drug lords to become disposable 'slaves' in the city's narcotics war after 45 foot soldiers were shot dead in just 16 months
    • Drug kingpins are advertising jobs on social media platforms like Snapchat
    • They source vulnerable teens from around France to run drugs in Marseille
    • Officials say the teens are treated like slaves and tortured into compliance

Since when has this been a "new thing"?
Lift the lid on any "criminal underworld" in any country and you'll see similar practices. The weak and vulnerable of a society are often exploited by criminals.

It was a bit of a revelation to me that the techniques used in the UK are being picked up abroad. As you say scumbags are scumbags, it was surprising to me that they are intelligent scumbags learning from each other.

They're not being picked up abroad, there is nothing new about county lines and the exploitation of children, the vulnerable and the weak by criminals - it's not a british invention and it's certainly not going to win a kings award for exports!

This particular behaviour recruiting vulnerable children and adults for county lines style trade does seem to be something the UK pioneered in Europe.

My sarcasm that we seemed to have led this obviously went over your head.

Yes using teenage drugs mules and vulnerable dealers is old, this particular set up is new.
