Heard the one about the old police station...

...it was turned into a cannabis farm.

On the radio they are talking about police station closures and keep mentioning the story. So I had a google.

A former London police station has been turned into a cannabis factory just five months after being sold.

The Metropolitan Police was called to one of its former bases on the Isle of Dogs on Sunday over concerns it was being used to grow the drug.

The station, on Manchester Road in the borough of Tower Hamlets, was sold to a private company in February this year.

When officers arrived there on Sunday, they found a "large" cannabis factory and set up a crime scene at the site.

Speaking to the Evening Standard, Conservative councillor Peter Golds said: "Two years ago we found a cannabis factory in a school in the borough and now this.

"We have said for years there are problems with antisocial behaviour in Tower Hamlets, but we have continued to see police stations close down.

"We only have one proper station in Bethnal Green left."

our local one became a Covid test area.

It may become much needed housing but the drugs halfway house tends to upset residents.

I suppose they used that phrase to describe a number of pits in central Slough, Doing it with a straight face will be a challenge.

I've done that when I've passed a few developments. Anyone want to live in a former asylum?
