Russian fighter fired missile at RAF jet

    https://news.sky.com/story/russian-j...k-sea-12725414

A missile was released from a Russian aircraft near an unarmed RAF plane on a routine patrol over the Black Sea, the defence secretary has said.

Ben Wallace said it happened on 29 September and that Russia has acknowledged the incident took place in international airspace.

Your title is worthy of the Wail.

It didn't "fire" a missile but "released" it
The missile was not fired "at" the RAF plane, but "near" it (out of visual range, so not that near)
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

And you was there was you? Released a missile, what did it drop off or something?

Basically we are at war with Russia, the Media are keeping it quiet, focussing on other topics, like Meghan Markle.

Should have been shot down by RAF escort fighters on approach

I wasn't there, I just read the careful wording of the statement.
Yes, releasing a missile implies it was one that is released (e.g. from an underwing mount) and then the missile engine is fired after release, rather the missile being "fired" out of a launch tube.

I hadn't read that Meghan was flying the Russian plane, but you could be right about that...
