I know. But the two are not the same, they are not interchangeable terms and this was written by their science editor. Any GCSE textbook explains this.Originally posted by vetran View Post
Natural selection does.
Us fundamental bible thumpers aren't used to having to explain this stuff to the scientists

Evolution is the product of natural selection. If Frogs with 6 toes have an advantage then there are more of them surviving and breeding, eventually almost all frogs have 6 toes therefore frogs have evolved.Originally posted by d000hg View PostI know. To be fair they are separate and should be explained separately.Comment

Doesn't mean his children will. I remember reading that your off-springs IQ goes towards the average generations on.Originally posted by vetran View Post

Also you need more than a high IQ to survive in the world."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

There is surviving and there is being the richest man on the planet. I put my money on Musk being brighter than Dhoogy!Originally posted by SueEllen View Post

Do you equate IQ and "being bright"? My old maths teacher always used to say that IQ tests are really only a measure of how good you are at IQ tests.Originally posted by vetran View Post

Elon is clearly a very smart and (more importantly) very driven person but if you look at his tweets and past controversies I'm not sure I'd say he's very bright in how he acts.
I think I'd say Elon has a wider mind than most of us not necessarily intrinsically smarter. He's able to drive multiple big-picture projects at once, largely successfully, while still having quite a good engineering background. There's a reason he was an inspiration for Tony Stark's character in the MCU films.
