    Retrial

I don't understand why like British juries the jurors aren't forbidden to speak to the media? Would save a lot of money.

Ghislaine Maxwell has officially requested a retrial, weeks after she was convicted on sexual abuse charges.

The 60-year-old was found guilty of recruiting and trafficking young girls to be sexually abused by the late American financier Jeffrey Epstein.
She has yet to be sentenced and faces up to 65 years in jail.

The retrial request comes after a juror in the case told media that he used his own experience of being sexually abused to influence jurors reaching a verdict.

In Wednesday's court filing in New York, one of Maxwell's lawyers asked for it to remain publicly released until the court rules on "submissions pertaining to Juror 50". They did not name the juror.

If the juror did not feck up by not mentioning child abuse in his questionnaire the she is sheet out of luck...

And even if she gets retrial she won't get bail...

given the influence Maxwell has, even if it were illegal for a juror to speak to the media, it would simply take a big enough bung for them to 'sell their story'.

        It's legal in the USA.

What would be illegal if the juror did not declare he was victim of child abuse on the form (apparently it had such question) and then used this story (as he says) to influence other jurors.

After Epstein cheated Justice (or was "helped" to do it) there is no way Maxwell walks out of this one, presumably she'll be hit with civil litigation as well to take everything she's got left
