With energy prices rising for normal tariffs and some cheap deals for electric car tariffs ~17p v ~5p / Kwh would buying a storage battery such as the LG Chem be a good idea especially when coupled with a solar PV system? The idea is that the battery absorbs excess solar PV output during the day and recharges on cheap electric car tariff overnight and releases energy when needed to reduce consumption. Still to do the maths but what would be the downside of such an arrangement?
