All Your Data Belongs To Us- on hold

    https://www.theguardian.com/society/...llions-opt-out

More than a million people opted out of NHS data-sharing in one month in a huge backlash against government plans to make patient data available to private companies, the Observer can reveal.
The General Practice Data for Planning and Research scheme is now on hold with no new date for implementation, and NHS Digital has made a series of concessions to campaigners to try to salvage it.

Under the scheme, GP health data for everyone in England, with identities partially removed, would be made available to researchers and companies for healthcare research and planning. The scheme is more extensive than current GP data-sharing arrangements.

Impressive as the opt-out is a two stage process.

You can opt-out your hospital records online, but you have to turn up in person at your GP’s surgery if you want to opt-out your GP records.

GPs practices should have a letter box on their practice building- so all I did was post my opt-out forms through the letter box.

I simply e-mailed the DPO at my GP and they replied almost instantly - removed, no problem.

I did my GP opt out before the original deadline, and the other one at the same time.

Goes to show that people don't trust the government with our data.

Including some of the GPs who had to hand the data over...
