Today - "The vaccines minister says 60% of hospitalisations from the Delta variant are unvaccinated, but people are still coming forward for their jabs."

So 40% in hospital were vaccinated.

That's for now when spread is mostly among young.

Were they double vaccinated, and if they were was it at least 21 days after their second jab?

Very astute question - last breakdown I've seen had maybe 50-50 between single doze and fully vaccinated.

Either way 40% is pretty high for vaccinated, whatever the reason behind it (such as VZ vaccine)

Even with the mRNA vaccines you aren't fully vaccinated and have sufficient antibodies until 2 weeks after your second jab.

Most of those over 65 got given the Pfizer jab as that was the first vaccine available.

However due to their age and illnesses many in hospital will have a screwed immune system so even with being double vaccinated and sufficient time, they still can't raise an immune response.
Those under 50 who are double jabbed regardless of vaccine either fall into the screwed immune system camp or didn't have sufficient time for their immune system to have enough antibodies.

40% is too high, that’s the warning sign of things to come soon

Previous reports showed 76% reduction in hospitalisations for a single does even against Delta, I think it was 90-95% for fully vaxxed.

However it throws up the question of who is single-jabbed - mostly younger people who are at very low risk anyway. I wonder if reading between the lines, a lot of older people haven't had their 2nd doses?
