    As with most things, only a sub-set of people would have looked like that. There would have been multiple tastes and preferences in makeup for men and women in each decade.

      As with clothes many would copy fashionable styles. I definitely recognise the looks from each decade, it is what my friends and lovers were wearing.

      It was the analysis of the styles that interested me.
