    Do the minimum!

Pretty much my normal MO during Christmas.

COVID-19: Britons told to 'do the minimum' if they visit family over Christmas | Politics News | Sky News

I will now be doing the same as most years.

I am visiting my parents on Boxing Day because to do so on the 19th, when I originally planned, is now illegal.

This means the government has forced me to not have proper isolation between visting my parents and my partner coming to stay. I would have had 10 days now I'll have 2.5.

You should write a shirty letter to your MP telling them that the government should rewrite public health advice to fit your own particular circumstances or it will be ALL THEIR FAULT.

        That's a good idea.

My MP ignores me at the best of times so they're doubly likely to ignore me now. Then I can doubly blame them for something or other.

          Cough over the letter first.

You likely won't become infectious within 2.5 days.

I just change my religion each year so that we don't have to celebrate it. This years one is Shinto
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Depends if she pops out for a G&T without a prophylactic scotch egg.
