Wasn't the EU mooting a "majority vote" by members to prevent individual states (i.e. UK) blocking key policiesOriginally posted by Paddy View PostAny one of the 27 countries can veto entry. Which way would you expect Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria to vote?Comment

It must be bad if refugees are leaving France, risking and sometimes losing their lives trying to reach the UK for proper asylum. Can't just be down to knowing the lingo (English) to make them think doing such a boat trip with young children is worth the risk. They can't all be gimigrants being sold the UK is land of free housing and bennies for life.Originally posted by minestrone View PostFrance is screwed.
Therefore France is a defacto tuliphole.Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.Comment

Nah, they'll get better results keeping the perp aliive long enough to lead them to any others involved in planning such acts and to find out what network may be behind it all. Then put him in the covid ward so no enquiry as to cause of death, just another 'died with covid' statistic.Originally posted by Colour Sergeant Bourne View PostRookie mistake by the French Gendarmerie

The whole thing is daft. There's no way Turkey is joining the EU in the next several decades. Britain will be back in first.
This is just the same nonsense being peddled by the same idiots, who have yet to get over the fact that they won. The idiots.See You Next TuesdayComment

There is more chance of the UK and Turkey creating their own common market than there is of Turkey joining the EU which means that Johnson and Farage's lies of millions of Turkish people coming to the UK will become trueOriginally posted by Lance View Postbut they'd need that to be agreed rather than vetoed.

Not with the current nutter in charge. The EU has to expand, and Turkey is perfect, if a change of leadership can be arranged...Originally posted by Lance View Postbut they'd need that to be agreed rather than vetoed.

And it's FMJ rather than plain lead which makes it even worse.
Though I'm quite sure the chap would rather be enjoying his raisins as a martyr.
