Yes, I have seen this so many times. "Homeless" with a dog, smoking and drinking, but that will be another thread."A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices," George Orwell -
Do you think that if these people stopped having a dog and stopped smoking and stopped drinking, that they would not be homeless?Originally posted by Paddy View PostYes, I have seen this so many times. "Homeless" with a dog, smoking and drinking, but that will be another thread.Comment

In my city, all business (including mine) in the centre contribute to a council fund for the "homeless", this is a compulsory in order to remove beggars from the street. The council have purchased three large properties. Young homeless are given semi-permanent accommodation and all others are put up in the night shelter. I know who's who and there are the hard core who aggressively beg pretending they are homeless.Originally posted by Old Greg View PostDo you think that if these people stopped having a dog and stopped smoking and stopped drinking, that they would not be homeless?
Since Covid-19, the beggars will approach people close up in order they will pay the beggars to leave.
Ten years ago, there were no beggars or homeless in the city, none of the current lot are of local origin. Now that news about the free accommodation has got around all sorts are turning up.
The homeless are regular seen drug dealing and being drunk, I can add a lot more to this but not now as I along with others are threatening the council with a court action if they don't remove the beggars from the streets."A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices," George OrwellComment

its similar in our village with two known beggars that catch the train here. One assumes where they are based the other beggars drove them out. They appear with a sleeping bag but don't stay.Comment

In my city the main impediment to getting the homeless off the street is the requirement to enroll on a detox program. But I discovered nothing else but depraved, excessive superstition. Pliny the youngerComment
