Never thought I'd say it but I am.....

Normally, I like a bit of skive but client has ramped down the work massively. Its a case of "no dont touch it theres no-one in the office".

Oh, WFH.

Most gigs have had one day a week or more WFH over the last ten years, this is the first time it's been 100%.

I love it, no struggling to make small talk with office drones, no commute and top IT equipment in my home-office.

The only drawback has been having the kids off school and going mad at the same time. Four-year-old loves bombing the Video-calls but the team just take no notice, I'm just Mr. Dad to them.

I hope the whole industry goes like this but to be honest it only really makes sense if you contract so you can pay for the home-office equipment, software licences and sundries.

Sometimes you just get so much more done face to face, and sometimes the office environment is just more productive in itself.

I also think it's really important to try and meet as many of your co-workers as you can - people work so differently when they feel, uh "socially connected" for want of a better word.

Do not take this as a dig, honestly don't mean it that way. But I've found that some people that say the above need to be around people to think, they have to talk to think. Which is fine but there are other people like me at the other end of the scale, leave me alone to think.

I'm sure we've all met that person we thought was a dick and found them to be thoroughly agreeable over a pint.

I don't need to be around people to think. I do find it much easier to allocate tasks, get feedback and share ideas though.
