He can shut down both houses (even if they disagree): Article II, Section 3, Clause 3 of the US constitution gives a president the power to adjourn both chambers.
Once he does that, he cannot be Impeached by them. That leaves resignation (he wont) and the 25th amendment. (Linky -> how to remove a sitting president)Last edited by mjcp; 30 July 2020, 14:29.Comment

He has found ways to do things, he might choose an executive order that contains multiple points, let's go for a flippant example:Originally posted by jamesbrown View PostThere isn't a way, dummy.
All states receive $100million, tax rates reduced by 10% and delay the election
That way, anyone who opposes the order will be presented as opposing tax cuts and opposing assistance, which makes them VERY BAD PEOPLE who are ANTI-AMERICAN.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

He doesn't need to be impeached. Trump and Pence are constitutionally out of a job on January 20, 2021 without being reelected. End of story. Of course, they can cause all sorts of chaos until then, making the transition a non-transition, but the end result is clear.Originally posted by mjcp View PostOnce he does that, he cannot be Impeached by them. But that is a completely separate point. He can do all sorts of things to try to win the election - that much is obvious. But he does need to win it.Originally posted by WTFH View PostHe has found ways to do things, he might choose an executive order that contains multiple points, let's go for a flippant example:

He can change the calendar.
It will be Year 4 of thousands years long Trump Era.
I bet the Founding Fathers did not think of that one.Comment

He will claim the election is invalid, remain in power and be unremovable by the (only) three options to remove a sitting president.Originally posted by jamesbrown View PostThere isn't a way, dummy.
Until the Supremes rule he lost, he's the sitting pres. Once that's ruled, yes, he's just a citizen.Comment

Hopefully he tries it because in that case he'll definately go to jailOriginally posted by mjcp View PostHe will claim the election is invalid, remain in power and be unremovable by the (only) three options to remove a sitting president.
