I wunted less mmigrants, sick of em undercuttin us and stealin our jobs etc.

Non-Visa means untracked doesn't it? So whats to stop people just doing as they do everywhere else with lapse rules like this, and hopping over to Ireland for a day then coming back, (or not bothering at all!)Comment

What used to happen there, was that a company had to prove they could not recruit a UK resident first, before bringing in a migrant. So that means UK workers, including the unemployed, will have to compete with workers world wide.
Then again, if you are advertising jobs at £25k, it is quite likely you would not be able to recruit someone locally for highly skilled jobs anyway. At £25k, you would be better off on benefits in most cases.Comment

the article makes no mention of inter company transfers, where outsourcers can bring in Indian workers, without the worker paying tax, and they can offset the workers expenses against tax.
Since this is a significant route for workers competing with us, and I have been aware of it for 20 years or so, this new points based system does not really change much.Comment
