and also never ever tell an agent where you are currenly working as they will try and replace you with a contractor of theirs and bad mouth you to your boss (it does happen).

    be anonymous, protect yourself.

They will entice you with fake contract opportunities etc for you to divulge information about your current 'work situation' .. don't tempt fate .. don't do it you know it makes sense.

I reply with "Sorry I can't give you that information".

I also make up my availability dates.

      I find this mildly amusing...

"I reply with "Sorry I can't give you that information"."

Or simply state the name of another campany and make up a name - works for me. I wonder if there really is a Mr D. Lee-Roth working at Phizer?
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

        I preferred version 1!

I did the same with an agent yesterday, she appeared to lose her footing for a moment which was funny. Next time I think I'll make up the name of a person for her to go hunting down.

              I like this idea

Mr D Roth-Lee it is then. I have a feeling this gentleman might quickly become a celebrity!

I have to say that I've yet to have an agent be rude to me. Fishing - yes. Offering utterly stupid roles - of course. Not having the first clue about their trade - often. But never rude. Yet!

You know it's amazing the famous people I have worked for. Dave lee roth, gene simmons (sp) and even a Mrs Krankie. I have been tempted give out Wayne Kerr but that is a bit obvious.

Well, yes. We are talking about agents though so I'd go for it.

Me too, I wonder if rather than 'hotting up' the knob jockeys are looking for roles...and worrying.
