    Murdered by whom?

There were over 800 murders in the UK last year. Some of these would have been by people identifying as "Christian"; does that make "Christians" a more murderous population?

I'm also going to go out on a limb and suggest that a parish magazine might not be as authoritative a source on such matters as one might hope.

And the ones who haven't been busy persecuting others have really reached out toward the poor, sick and imprisoned. You should pat yourselves on the back because you're such good people.
Nat you should know better, secular charity far outdoes religious charity in the UK:
Plus the likes of me always donate heavily to the sally army at Xmas, as do many other of those without a faith. Religion has no high ground when it comes to morals and ethics.

Top 10 charities by fundraising income 2016/17:

        4 Macmillan Cancer Support £233.7m
        5 Oxfam £211.3m
        6 RNLI £182m
        7 Salvation Army £141.4m
        8 British Red Cross £135.4m
