            Bulltulip.

Revolver, The White Album, Rubber Soul.

All classic albums might i add. The Beatles quite simply raised the bar and set the standard for all music today.

As for Oasis, theres no question as to who they take their influences, but its more than that. Its about where they came from, its about a lead singer who has one of the best rock voices and passion we have ever heard since the likes of Jagger or Lennon, its about a songwriting that appeals to normal people on the streets. Oasis are the last classic true rock band we have had in a very very very long time.

Name one band that can stand up and have as much impact on society with the likes Led Zep, The Beatles, The Stones, The Who of recent times?

            Name one, just one?

            U2? Dont make me laugh.

Revolver was possibly their best album IMO. closely followed by Sargent pepper (Yellow submarine EP was good too but not really an album).

The white album, i did own that, tedious from start to finish.

However when you take their total volume of work and divide that by the number of good tracks... well i personally think that steps get a better ratio.

I am sorry, but you rate the Yellow Submarine EP thats for kids, over The White Album?

I think the medley on Abbey Road (starting with "You Never Give Me Your Money" and ending with "The End"), is one of the cleverest and most ambitous pieces ever recorded.

You can teach any old monkey IT - you can't teach musical ability like that.

                  Absolute genius.

                    Seconded!

Best song ever written in the entire history of popular music.

I agree with you there, sprite boy. I'd never call the Beatles my favourite band, but they turned out loads and loads of good songs and many of them were classics.

Today? Don't knock today's music too much. People were saying the same things in the sixties when the charts were full of "long-haired layabouts"!
