I woulsd like to see the death penalty for such cases.

Not exactly sure how the death penalty worked, but I seem to remember that it was mandatory for murder, which is why Ruth Ellis was hanged. If it were left to the judge to decide whether or not to use it, that might work. However, what we have now is a farce. Life imprisonment for murder can be as little as 12 years and an offender can be out on parole after 6.

This is not true - the tarrif (prison portion) is given as a minimum - if they get 12 years, then they will serve a MINIMUM of 12 years. And unlike other sentencing, there's no guarantee of release at the 12 year mark and even when they are released, the life portion can never be served. So they can get recalled to prison etc.

I don't disagree that some of our sentencing is poor, but it's important to understand the nuances of a life sentence vs an ordinary sentence.

Because in any country pretending to have any kind of just justice system, execution costs far more than prison
