War on terror saves UK jobs

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/6182125.stm

So what? They had a smug faced git (the kind you want to hit with a cricket bat) from some group against the arms trade or whatever on newsnight bleating on about how its illegal and how we should be ashamed and this is not democratic blah blah blah... Yeh I kind of agree but its not a level playing field out there and I don't see why France or the USA should pick up the business just so we can feel all warm gooey and righteous.

I think the UK gov pulled a bit of a masterstroke with "Our relationship with Saudi Arabia is vitally important for our country in terms of counter-terrorism, in terms of the broader Middle East, in terms of helping in respect of Israel and Palestine. That strategic interest comes first."

    Good call!
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

A British Government doing something in the best interests of the British public. It'll never catch on, you wait.

Apparently they are currently re-branding the term War On Terror to some other term now - cant recall what it is ...what branding would the panel suggest?

        Err... Jihad ?

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Yes - but a tad Medievial - still - has potential.

Maybe the Caped Crusaders for a bit of Hollyweirdness ?

Just think of the film and TV potential, not to mention merchandising.

I do like your thinking PL - the merchandising could be a real bonanza.

Mass marketing and consumerism would also make the conflict a kind of community/peoples War - tres NL methinks.

Making money through War - a new concept ?
