    RSI

Having ignored all the Health and Saftey videos for the majority of my career, RSI is coming to haunt me.

I am now struggling with a vertical mouse and mechanical keyboard which I have used since 2014. The mouse wheel is agony.

I guess I am going to have to try a trackball. Touch pads out, as are iPads, & smartphones - I quite like using a 3rd world Nokia though.

Does anyone have any suggestions for keyboards? I am at the point where this may be career ending according to my doctor. Carpal tunnel surgery on both sides soon.

    Be careful kids.

Cut down on the wanking or use your other hand or pay MF 25p to do it.

I started getting RSI many years ago, the advice from a specialist was rest your wrists on the desk. I've never had a problem since.

I actually make sure my forearms and wrists are flat on the desk and the keyboard is set back.
      I'm alright Jack

I got it in my right elbow from gaming (honest!). Since I stopped gaming it's gone away - and exercise helped.

Can you afford to take a year long sabbatical away from computers?

It would make sense. Money is tight following some horrendous medical bills that depleted the warchest over the past 2 years, but I do have a side gig with BMW M that I enjoy immensely, so if the driving work picks up when we can take winter tires off it is certainly worth putting some serious though to.

I try and I have gel pads, but my fingers and finger tips are also a big problem.

Some may scoff at this but give tai chi and maybe some acupuncture a try as well - can't hurt.

Oi! I see what you're doing there. Trying to cost me business by overcharging, while Nat does it for 10p

I tried acupuncture. It went badly. After my hand jumped after a needle was stuck in my meridian nerve and the guy said "can you see the energy being released" I had electric shocks in my arm for 10 months.

Tai Chi, thanks for the suggestion, how do you think it would help?
