Those guys who wrote Freakonomics did some data-mining on prostitution and it's interesting. The price is remarkably stable over centuries, though the services provided become more specialised.
Historically men used to see working girls because 'nice' girls didn't put out and were virgins on their wedding day. Obviously the nice girls had to respond to this threat by putting out. A virgin wedding nowadays is pretty rare in western culture.
Then there was oral sex. Wives just didn't do that sort of thing. So men had to go to working girls if this was their thing. How did nice girls respond? Well it's basic fare nowadays. I'd expect it for the price of a couple of vodkas.
Then there's the ole backdoor. Apparently this is why most men go to working girls nowadays, though the nice girls are responding to the threat the only way they can; by offering it up. I think this is now the third date thing.
Then there's prostate milking. I think this'll be the next big thing.Comment
