    It is interesting.

I do not care whether you follow a religion which supports certain practices - that is your choice and up to you - as long as it does not affect another human being then fill your boots.

However if by following your religion you are then going to try to force some of those choices on other people with the wailing lament of being discriminated against if they do not then that is not acceptable.

You can draw the easy comparison - if i want to go to a Muslim country and have a beer in the open - I cannot, therefore if you want to come to a catholic country and expect to have everything changed to suit you then you cannot.

It seems at times that if 'insert minority religion here' tells us to do something it's fine - if catholics tell us to do something then it is white religious pressure.

Except you are incorrect. I have drunk beer in the open while talking to a Muslim friend in his home country - which is a Muslim country in the Middle East.

Not all Muslim countries are like the one the UK supplies guns to, who are also known as a place where terrorists get trained and women are subjugated.
It seems at times that if “insert government/big business here’ tells us to ignore something, it’s fine - if people with morals do something then it is liberalism/socialism gone mad.

Could you drink in a public place?

Does “sitting at a table outside a cafe on the side of a street in the centre of the capital city” count as a public enough place for you?

                  Bradford is predominately pakistani though.

Having said that, my local 'Indian' when I lived near Pudsey was in fact run by Pakistanis, can't honestly say whether the meat was halal or non-halal as no song and dance made, but definitely alcohol was on offer!

There's a few 'Indians' about in Leeds with no alcohol on offer, but I always assumed that was because they had no licence to serve it - you could bring your own...

I have no inherent problem with halal meat if that's what you want to eat.

I take issue with it being served in my kid's school without a suitable alternative meat dish. I would feel the same if only a Kosher, Jain or whatever dish was the only choice.

Simple as that really. I've made that quite clear in my posts on this thread.
