    Not 20-something. Not geeky.

    I think it's a good idea, but £45 seems a lot.
    Hard Brexit now!

        Don't think I'd pay £45 for that...

My mum makes proper Xmas cakes... there's one maturing in a tin as I post...

        Ah, those were the days.

        Ho hum.

You don't want christmas cake, you want cookie log!!!

1 Packet of cookies, take out of packet and put on a plate.
Pour over half a bottle of Sherry and leave for a couple of hours so that it soaks into the cookies.
Take 1 Pot of whipping cream, add the rest of the sherry and whip it up so it's nice and thick.
          Cover cookies with the cream

          Voila

Would you pay £45 for a 6x6 Christmas Cake.

Would I fuck. I make my own... Mind you, with half a bottle of brandy in the cake and two and a half in the chef, it's probably cheaper to buy one...

And Loose Women rocks!!! Thats the back bone of my day - the only thing that keeps me going until 4pm when the countdown/deal or no deal segment starts!

70%+ cocoa is no problem as is the alcohol just the overall sugar content. The sugar in the fruit should be the only sweetening agent or if extra sweetening is required maybe an artificial sweetener that can be used for cooking (albeit at lowish temperatures).

I've made similar in the past with pretty good results. There's only so much Thornton's diabetic chocolate one can eat at xmas without generating more methane than a heard of cattle.
